Sibanga FC and Sinyereri Queens Shine in Governor’s Cup 2024 Finals
Sibanga FC and Sinyereri Queens emerged victorious in the finals of the second edition of the Governor’s Cup held today at the Ndura Sports Complex.
Sibanga FC clinched the men’s title with a narrow 1-0 victory over a determined Tuwan FC, while Sinyereri Queens dazzled in the women’s category, securing a dominant 4-0 win against White Ladies.
Both teams were awarded Ksh 1 million each for their outstanding performances. The runners-up, Tuwan FC and White Ladies, took home Ksh 750,000, with second and third runners-up receiving Ksh 500,000 and Ksh 250,000, respectively.
Governor George Natembeya, who graced the finals, commended the players for their dedication and reaffirmed his commitment to nurturing local talent.
“This tournament is proof that Trans Nzoia is full of untapped potential. We will continue to invest in our youth and sports development,” he said.
The Governor’s Cup, now a premier annual event, has grown into a vibrant platform for young athletes to showcase their skills.
