Sigh of Relief for Wanjiku as Doctors say Her Condition can be Reversed
Anne Wanjiku 28 years suffering from Spinal cord complications has something to smile about after the doctors said the conditions can be reversed.
According to Dr. Florentius Koech from Top Hill Brain and Spine Hospital, her condition where her spinal cord has been paralyzed can be reversed through surgery.
Anne Wanjiku has been sick for the last 6 years she has been paralyzed below her legs.
“She needs a surgical procedure to divert the fluid within the spinal cord so that there is no compression of the spinal cord, and she may improve and walk as she did, this is something that can be reversed,” Dr. Koech said.
Rachel Muthoni mother of Wanjiku called on Kenyans of goodwill to help her child undergo operation.
“I am calling upon all well-wishers to help her with the little they have to take my daughter to the hospital since as I am talking I am not in a position to raise such an amount,” said Muthoni while speaking to the press.
Anne Wanjiku says she went to the hospital but was told it was pneumonia where she was given drugs for the same but after two weeks, her legs were paralyzed.
“I am confident that I will be okay since the growth is making me uncomfortable I am suffering since I cannot walk and am forced to use pampers which I cannot even afford. Kindly help me,” she said.
