Acting Uasin Gishu Agriculture Chief Officer Dr. Phillip Biama has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction works for the Sirikwa machine slaughter slab.
Speaking during a visit to assess works for the facility, Dr. Biama said constructions works were at 95% complete.
He expressed optimism that it will be ready for re-opening within the next three weeks.
For several years now, traders seeking to slaughter their livestock were being forced to get the services far away but the challenge will now be a thing of the past in the next few weeks.
Slaughter slab that was in the area was closed down for being sub standard
The Sirikwa machine slaughter slab is being constructed by ziwa machine rainbow self help group.
Ziwa Ward Livestock Officer and Meat Inspector Rebecca Samoei accompanied the Chief Officer.
