Spot-Check on Farms Following Implementation of Farm Subsidy Program

Today, H.E. the Governor of Kakamega, FCPA Fernandes Barasa, conducted spot-checks on local farms to evaluate the success of the County Farm Subsidy Program. The initiative, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, has shown promising results in the initial stages of its implementation.

During his visit to Mulukusi in Kholera Ward, Governor Barasa was pleased to see flourishing crops on farms that had utilized the County’s subsidized planting fertilizer. He commended the farmers for their diligent efforts and encouraged them to continue using the County’s top-dressing fertilizer to ensure optimum production levels.

The Governor’s visit underscores the County’s commitment to enhancing food security and supporting local farmers through strategic interventions. “The success we are witnessing today is a testament to what can be achieved when we support our farmers with the necessary resources. I urge all farmers to take full advantage of the top-dressing fertilizer provided by the County to maximize their yields,” stated Governor Barasa.

Accompanying the Governor were Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), County Officials, and local farmers, who expressed their satisfaction with the program’s impact on their crops. The positive feedback from the farming community highlights the program’s effectiveness and the potential for increased agricultural output in the region.
