Tendwo Secondary School Stage demonstrations fwom their School to Town

Students from Tendwo Secondary School have staged a protest against the transfer of teachers without filling the vacant positions.

The students marched from their school to the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner’s office to present their demands.

“As you have seen the students started there procession to Eldoret town,we’ve heard their issues and they are going back together with their principal “said John.

Speaking to the press, John Gitonga, the Director of Education in Uasin Gishu County, stated that efforts to engage with the students have not been fruitful.

The protest also highlighted other concerns, such as the quality of food provided at the school, the absence of a school nurse, and the recent transfer of the school’s principal.

According to Gitonga, the students are seeking a dialogue with the County Commissioner regarding their concerns.

“We do not even understand how the students concluded that the body of management is weak, but it is a challenge we are going to address starting tomorrow,” he said.

Gitonga admitted that they have planned a meeting to address the students’ grievances and discuss the issues affecting them.

He also assured that the matter of teacher transfers will be resolved by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to maintain stability at the school would strive to implement.
