The Eldoret National Polytechnic hosted Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and NACADA officials for the launch of the Uasin Gishu County Action Plan on Alcohol and Drug Control.
Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii said the plan is a significant milestone as the first initiative of its kind in collaboration with NACADA and other agencies.
“The action plan will serve as a comprehensive roadmap for implementing targeted reforms and equipping our young population with the necessary tools to break free from the clutches of substance abuse, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives,” he said.
The Eldoret National Polytechnic Chief Principal Charles said they have developed a workplace policy to fight drug and substance abuse.
“As TENP we have already developed a workplace policy on ADA and welcome the collaboration with NACADA, County Government and NGAO to support our youth in alleviating the challenges associated with drug and substance abuse, ” he said.
Also present were Chairman NACADA Rev Dr Mairora , CEO NACADA Dr Omerikwa and County Commisioner Dr Edyson Nyale.
