The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is Kenya’s top labour destination for migrant workers with over 210,000 Kenyan migrant workers. Approximately 70% of Kenyan workers in Saudi Arabia are low skilled and domestic workers while 30% are semi -skilled, skilled and professionals. My efforts are geared towards increasing these numbers of skilled workers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Today, I held talks with Takamol / Musaned officials and key actors in the Labour Migration sector at the Ministry offices in Nairobi.

The Kenya Kwanza Administration under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA Plan), continues to invest heavily in human capital.

During my recent visit in Saudi Arabia, I noted that KSA is planning to build a new city called Neom in the Tabkut Province to function as a tourist destination. We have held talks on how Kenya can support this construction by supplying workers in the field of (Architectures, Engineers and Engineering trades, contractors, Masonry, landscapers, designers, plumbers, building and construction, plant operators, civil works technician, electrical works, landscaping and cartographers).

These series of meetings both in the Country and in Saudi Arabia are intended to enhance safe and orderly labour migration between our countries as well as increase the number of our labour migrant workers in the KSA.

Present was Mr. Khalid Al-dukhi, Chief Executive Officer, Musaned,Dr. Wafi Asiri, Director, Strategic Partnerships Department, Mr. Abdulrahman Alsuwaydan- Strategic Partnerships Expert and Mr. Abdulla Alkhowaiter- Strategic Partnership expert from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
