This is why Wakili Njeri Maina is Thankful
I want to thank the Board of trustees, Riara University, for deeming it fit to invite me as a guest speaker during their 7th commencement ceremony.
I also want to thank the graduates and congratulate them once again for the years of hard work.
My words of wisdom to the dreams take flight graduates.
“In a world grappling with complex problems such as climate change, social inequality, and political polarization, we cannot afford to remain complacent as young people.
The journey ahead may not always be straightforward. We will fall short, encounter setbacks, face obstacles and confront moments of doubt. But it is during these times that our true character will tested and sharpened. It is in the face of adversity that we must summon the courage, determination and resilience to forge ahead.
Be bold, be fearless, and be agents of change. Seek out opportunities to challenge the status quo, to question prevailing wisdom, and to champion innovative ideas.
Let us never forget the power of collaboration and empathy. Let us remain connected as a community, supporting and uplifting one another.
Together, we will create a better future, a future where the ideals we hold dear- justice, equality and compassion- are not just distant dreams; but a loving reality.
Dear dreamers, the world is waiting for us and I have no doubt we shall rise to the occasion.
Let us go forth with determination, conviction and the unwavering belief that we have the power to make a difference.
We ARE the leaders of today.”
