Tragic Accident on Narok-Maimahiu Road Claims Young Life
A tragic accident on Tuesday night claimed the life of a one-year-old child and left 14 passengers injured on the Narok-Maimahiu road in the Pinyinyi area.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. when a truck collided with a matatu carrying 15 passengers that was ascending a hill. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck struck the matatu from behind, causing it to veer off the road and roll multiple times.
“One child aged 1 year was fatally injured, and 14 passengers were rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital in serious condition,” a police spokesperson confirmed. The child’s body has been taken to the hospital’s mortuary, while the injured passengers are receiving urgent medical care.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, highlighting the ongoing need for increased road safety awareness in the area. The community is in mourning, extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving family during this difficult time.
