Chief Officer for Sports Jane Wachwenge sent off the Trans Nzoia athletics team in a spirited ceremony at the social hall today evening, gearing them up for the regional cross-country championship set for tomorrow at the Kishaunet showground in West Pokot County.

The 45-strong contingent, brimming with dedication and talent, will face stiff competition from five other North Rift counties: West Pokot, Samburu, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Turkana.

The Chief officer urged the athletes to not just compete, but to conquer.

“Your hard work and firm commitment have brought you to this stage. Trust in your training, let your passion ignite your performance, and remember, you carry the hopes and dreams of Trans Nzoia on your shoulders.” she added.

Discipline was another key theme of Wachwenge’s message. “Embrace the challenge, compete with heart, and above all, remember the importance of sportsmanship,” she emphasized. “Make us proud, not just with your results, but with your conduct on and off the track.”
