Trans Nzoia County First Lady Joins Hands with Rachel Ruto’s Team to Boost Forest Cover
In a concerted effort to enhance the county’s forest cover and safeguard the water catchment areas of Mt. Elgon and Cherangany Hills, Trans Nzoia County First Lady Lilian Natembeya, along with a team from the office of First Lady Rachel Ruto, embarked on a mission under the initiative named “Mama Is Doing Good.” This initiative aligns with President Ruto’s call to plant 15 billion trees within a span of five years.
As part of their campaign, the team paid a visit to several educational institutions, spreading awareness and mobilizing support for the cause. The schools included St. Joseph’s Primary, St. Joseph’s Boys High School, Top Station Primary School, Milimani Primary School, St. Anthony Boys High School, and Trans Nzoia Primary School.
The pinnacle of this green initiative will reach its climax tomorrow, as the First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, is expected to grace the occasion and inaugurate a magnificent tree park in Trans Nzoia County(Arboretum at Block C opposite KCC company) The ceremony will mark a significant milestone in the county’s conservation efforts and further fortify its commitment to environmental sustainability.
The tree park launch aims to not only provide a recreational space for the community but also serve as a symbol of hope and unity in safeguarding the environment.
