Trans Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya has warned newly recruited security wardens against corruption and urged them to exhibit servant-hood while discharging their duties.

Governor Natembeya spoke on Monday while handing over appointment letters to the 200 wardens at Town Hall. He said the officers should exercise public relations to residents who seek county services, show loyalty to the government, and respect their colleagues.

The governor outlined key areas where the officers will be deployed, including securing government property, taking care of water projects, and being deployed at Vocational and Training Centres. For the first time, chief officers, sub-county, and ward administrators may get security guards after the governor said some of the wardens will serve senior government officials.

The governor said the additional 200 officers to the current 350 officers will help for effective service delivery. He encouraged the new employees to ensure strict adherence to laws established by the county assembly and provide fresh perspectives to the government and offer new sets of minds to the government approach.

The governor asked the new officers to take the advantage of their positions in advancing their education which can help them advance their careers within the public service.
