Trans Nzoia County Renews MOU with Embrace CBO for Bahati Rescue Center Management
Trans Nzoia County has reaffirmed its commitment to the rehabilitation and welfare of street families by renewing its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Embrace Community-Based Organization (CBO) for the management of the Bahati Rescue Center.
Chanelle Kittony, the County Executive Committee Member (CEC) for Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism, emphasized that this MOU represents a significant step towards addressing the needs of street families in the county.
The county has devised initiatives aimed at improving the lives of these individuals, with a particular focus on providing young people with opportunities to return to school.
The Chief Officer for Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism, Jane Wachwenge, explained that the rescue center is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and reintegrating street children within the county.
She expressed the county government’s strong commitment to reducing the number of street families and improving their circumstances.
Director of Embrace CBO, Vitaliii Kyrylko who spoke during the event, expressed gratitude to the county for its support.
He revealed plans to drill a borehole at the facility, addressing water supply issues.
“This borehole will not only benefit the rescue center but also serve the children’s home, the elderly, and the neighboring community, contributing to a holistic approach in assisting those in need.” He said
