Trans Nzoia Governor Welcome PS Harry Kimutai
Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba welcomes Principal Secretary State Department for Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation Harry Kimtai who called on him today morning in his office.
The two leaders agreed to work together for the betterment of farmers.
Khaemba said, this year, production of food crops in the country is expected to drop immeasurably as farmers have resorted to cutting the application of fertilizers owing to unreachable prices.
The governor said the ministry of agriculture should move with speed and address the issue of subsidy, saying the high cost of farm inputs is pushing more farmers out of business.
The PS said the government will continue investing more in agriculture adding that soon the prices of farm inputs will drop as the 5.7 Billion subsidy fund will soon be approved by the cabinet.
