Transforming Agriculture and Creating Jobs at Ilula CIDC
MSEA North Rift Office held a meeting with leadership of stakeholders operating at the Illula CIDC. This follows a request by the Ambassadors Kapsoya disabled group who will now be moving to the CIDC to carry out animal feeds production and agribusiness seedlings greenhouses.
The group has 15 active members who have agreed to continue mobilizing to enable the Authority carry our registration of associations. The CIDC is actively carrying out gooseberry value addition, gluten-free flour, herbs, and spices.
In 2023, the site created at least 70 direct jobs and over 200 indirect Jobs through farmers and farmer cooperatives. The Centre is projected to double the jobs created in 2023.
