Uasin Gishu County Assembly members have expressed their congratulations to Evans Kapkea, the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Uasin Gishu County. Kapkea, who previously served as the MCA for Tembelio Ward, fills the position left vacant by the resignation of former Deputy Governor John Barorot.

Moisbridge MCA Patrick Kimeli Kimaiyo lauded Governor Jonathan Bii for his swift decision in appointing Kapkea. Kimaiyo highlighted Kapkea’s dedication and hard work on the trade committee, particularly in addressing issues faced by hawkers. “It’s commendable that Governor Bii appointed someone from Barorot’s previous constituency,” Kimaiyo said. He expressed confidence that Kapkea would continue to work diligently for the benefit of the county.

Huruma Ward MCA Wakili Kimani Wanjohi also praised Kapkea’s appointment. Wanjohi acknowledged the loss the assembly faces with Kapkea’s departure but expressed optimism that he would champion the concerns of business people in Eldoret. “We hope he will carry our dreams and expectations into his new role,” Wanjohi stated.

Gilbert Lagat, MCA for Kiolombe Ward, thanked Governor Bii for selecting a hard-working individual. Lagat noted that Kapkea’s previous experience and understanding of the county’s challenges would foster a productive relationship between the executive and the County Assembly. “Kapkea’s appointment reflects his dedication and capabilities,” Lagat commented.

Benjamin Natui, MCA for Ngenyilel Ward, emphasized the significance of having one of their own in the deputy governor role. Natui highlighted how Kapkea’s leadership could address local challenges and enhance cooperation between the County Assembly and the executive. “This appointment is a testament to what young leaders can achieve,” Natui remarked, urging Kapkea to ensure a collaborative approach for better service delivery.

As Kapkea steps into his new role, the assembly members remain hopeful that his leadership will address key issues and strengthen the governance framework in Uasin Gishu County.
