Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Stephen Kihara Assures Residents of Their Security

Uasin Gishu County commissioner Stephen Kihara has assured residents of their security before, during and after the fourthcoming general elections.

Speaking to the press Kihara said everything is in order therefore no cause for alarm.

“I want to assure Uasin Gishu residents that their security is guaranteed and that we are set to provide security before, during and after the general elections which is scheduled for August this year, there should no be any cause of alarm since Uasin Gishu is a peaceful County, ” says the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner.

Kihara said that any presidential candidate is welcomed in the County to seek for votes.

“I welcome everyone running for the presidency regardless of his or her political party affiliation to comfortably campaign in this County under one condition that they must be peaceful.We will provide security to any candidate to ensure that his or her campaign trail is successfull,” he added.

He further said that leaders seeking for any political seat should sell their manifestos without inciting residents.

“I want to give a stern warning to politicians who instead of selling their manifestos to the electorates they are fond of dividing Kenyans based on their tribal and political affiliations, such people will be arrested and charged since we cannot stay mum while the security of our people is being compromised by self centered individuals.Hate speech will not be tolerated ,” he said.

Uasin Gishu is among the Counties that were badly affected by the 2007 post election violence.
