The Commission on Revenue Allocation has lauded the County Government of Uasin Gishu for the prudent use of resources allocated for the implementation of various projects aimed at improving the lives of the residents.

Speaking during a tour of projects in Soy, Moiben and Turbo Sub-Counties, Commissioner Khadija Juma and the Chief Executive Officer for the commission Mr James Tule said Uasin Gishu County is among the few Counties they have visited that have completed crucial projects that were allocated funds by the National Government for development.

“We have noted a positive impact as narrated by residents in many areas who are now benefiting from the projects initiated and completed by the county government of Uasin Gishu,” Commissioner Khadija said.

The Commissioner and her team are in the County on a two-day visit to assess the impact of devolution and gather views for developing the fourth basis for revenue sharing among the County Governments in future.

“What we have witnessed in Uasin Gishu in terms of development is a clear indicator that the devolved system of government is working and therefore there is a need to increase the amount of money allocated for development,” Commissioner Khadija added.

The team had earlier in the day been hosted by Governor Jonathan Bii in his office during a courtesy call.

In their earlier engagement with the county boss, they emphasised the need for more allocation and timely disbursement of funds to County governments to enhance development.

They visited several completed and already in use projects including; Kuinet/ Kapsuswa Ward Office, Kuinet Farmers Cooperative Society, and Kapchunga Water Project which is benefiting the residents in their agricultural activities.

They also visited Ziwa Level 4 Hospital, Ngenyilel Vocational Training Centre, Kimbilio Bridge and Ziwa Machine Water Project.

Tomorrow the team will visit various County Government implemented projects in Ainabkoi, Kesses and Kapseret Sub-Counties.

The team was accompanied by senior County Government officials including Chief Officers Elijah Koech(Water) and Mark Some(Administration) among others.
