Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministers Hit at CS Health for Forcing Kenyans to Go for Coronavirus Vaccine
Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministers Chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui has condemned CS. Mutahi Kagwe for denying access to services to persons who have not been vaccinated against COVI-19.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town, Bishop Wilson Kurui said the move is uncalled for and ill-intended.
“As religious leaders from Uasin Gishu County we are not happy with firstttersensitizedthe CS Health vaccines are voluntary and no one whatsoever should force Kenyans to take them,” said the Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministerss Chairman.
This comes after the CS Heath Mutahi Kagwe directed that all Kenyans who have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be denied access to in-person government services beginning Dec. 21.
“People should first be senstized on the importance of getting the vaccine from the grassroots. People have their freedom of either to be vaccinated or not since others have valid reasons for not being vaccinated,” said Bishop Kurui.
“I urge the Ministry of Health to take health experts across the County to educate the public on the importance of the vaccine before making it a must, this is the only way that more Kenyans will go for the vaccination,” he added.
He said the government should encourage Kenyans to have NHIF cards instead of forcing them to go for coronavirus vaccination.
“Instead of people being forced to take vaccine they should be told to get NHIF card this is important since it wll help them quality health care service,” he said.
He further warned politicians against spreading hate messages ahead of the 2022 general elections.
“Politicians should refrain from using hate messages, instead they should sell their manifesto.Such people should be arrested and charged.we will not shed blood because of politics,” he advised.
