Uasin Gishu Governor elect Jonathan Bii Urges Kenyans to Remain Calm as They Await Supreme Court Ruling
Uasin Gishu Governor elect Jonathan Bii Alias Koti Moja has called on Kenyans to remain calm as thye await the Supreme Court ruling on the disputed presidential elections.
Speaking to the press at the Sports club Bii called on Kenyans to maintain peace.
“We know we have a supreme court case where Odinga is challenging elections of the president-elect William Ruto, truth will be seen since it’s not the first time he went to court in 2017 and we know he will lose the case,” said the Uasin Gishu governor-elect.
He said the court is Independent and will give Kenyans justice.
The Uasin Gishu governor-elect said he will work with all residents whether they voted for him or not.
“In Uasin Gishu let’s continue with our daily activities and I take this opportunity
to invite Uasin Gishu residents whether they voted for us or not since it was just a contest and you had a right to vote where you wanted because the winner is there, you are all my people and I will work for you all,” said Bii.
Jonathan Bii will be sworn in on Thursday as Uasin Gishu’s second governor.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Stephen Kihara applauded residents for maintaining peace before, during, and after the August polls.
“We feel proud as Uasin Gishu residents since we were able to go through the elections peacefully until the declaration of results, we have gotten leaders and people should continue with their jobs since we need food to eat, schools to continue as usual. I also invite residents on Thursday for this great day where our governor will be sworn in,” he added.
