Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Launches Ziwa Machine Dam 3 Water Project, Fulfilling Pre-Election Promise
Uasin Gishu County – In a significant step towards enhancing water provision across Uasin Gishu County, Governor Jonathan Bii officially handed over the Ziwa Machine Dam 3 water project to the contractor today.
This marks the commencement of infrastructural works, paving the way for the distribution exercise in the region.
With a budget of Ksh 29 million, the project is poised to benefit over 3,000 households, as well as institutions such as Ziwa High School and Kimurgoi Health Center. Governor Bii reiterated the county’s commitment to fulfilling its pre-election promise of improving water access for its residents.
The handover ceremony was attended by local leaders, including the area MCA, Honorable Ezekiel Kodi, and various county officials. Speaking at the event, Governor Bii emphasized the importance of the project in addressing the water needs of the community and fostering development in the region.
“The Ziwa Machine Dam 3 water project represents a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance water provision across our county,” Governor Bii stated. “By investing in critical infrastructure such as this, we are not only improving the quality of life for our residents but also laying the groundwork for sustainable development.”
The project is expected to be completed within the stipulated timeframe, with the contractor already mobilizing resources to commence construction. Once operational, it will alleviate water scarcity challenges and provide a reliable source of clean water for the beneficiaries.
