Uasin Gishu Governor Orders Closure Of All Night Clubs in Residential Areas
Uasin Gishu County Governor H.E Jonathan Bii has ordered an immediate closure of night Clubs and Bars that operate in estates and other residential places within Eldoret town.
Speaking during the County Thanksgiving and Dedication Prayer Service in Eldoret, Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim said a lot of nightclubs and bars have been sprouting in residential areas of Eldoret town against the law.
The Governor noted that the night clubs are becoming increasingly in residential places where they have a negative impact on young people exposing them to drugs and alcohol abuse.
He said there is an increase in the number of young people using drugs in the county saying that his administration will not allow the trend to continue. He asked church leaders and parents to remain vigilant and pray for young people for a better future.
