Uasin Gishu Women Rep Gladys Boss Want Naiberi OCPD, OCS Sacked
Uasin Gishu woman representative and National Assembly deputy speaker Gladys Boss now wants Naiberi Police station OCPD Mwatete and OCS Mwamburi sacked with immediate effect.
Speaking at Naiberi Center after disbursing the NHIF cheque for over 300 households Boss blamed the police for the increased insecurity in the region.
“I have been told by residents that there has been increased insecurity, where a shop has been broken into several times. It is not possible for a shop to be broken into four times in one center and police don’t know who did it.OCS Naiberi and OCPD Naiberi should not be transferred but sacked with immediate effect since they are sleeping on their job,” said the Uasin Gishu women representative.
This comes after Naiberi residents on Friday brought business to a standstill as they took to the streets to demonstrate increased cases of robbery attacks in the area.
They said the armed robbers were taking advantage of laxity on the part of the security personnel to carry out the frequent robbery attacks during the day and night as they target businesses run by prominent businessmen and women and M-Pesa shops.
“OCPD Matete and OCS Mwamburi you must go out of Uasin Gishu, we no longer need your services. we will not stay mum while the lives of our people are at risk, we will deal with you, you will not be transferred but you will go out of the police force,” said the deputy speaker while speaking to the press.
She also warned the area chief for allowing illegal alcohol to be sold in the region saying he will also be shown the door.
“It is sad that the area chief has also been involved in hiding those selling illegal alcohol, I won’t allow that to happen, the chief must be sacked too,” she added.
