Veterans FC are the Winners of Dr Mishra football tournament.
Ndungulu took position two while Tarakwa FC and Barekeiywa were position three and four respectively.
According to the Kesses legislator Dr Swarup Mishra the main aim of the tournament was to nurture youth talents.
“The main aim of the tournament is to nurture talents and make youths busy by engaging in constructive activities.This will also prevent them from engaging in drug abuse and insecurity cases,” said the Kesses legislator.
He said heroes are created in sport and can become positive role models for the team and the wider community.
“Sports creates conversations by providing a common ground, and a unified sense of purpose. For the love of the game and the passion brought to the field, sports fans forge bonds between themselves, players, and fans,” he added.
All teams that participated benefited with full sets of football kits (jersey, shorts, boots, socks, and shin guards)
The winners walked away with a trophy, medal, goodies, and cash prices.
“We are looking forward, to growing this tournament beyond borders so we can also have our own regional soccer team (from Uasin Gishu) playing in the Kenya Premier League league,” Dr Mishra added.
Trophies and cash prizes was awarded by Mr. Khalwale, Mr. Tallam and Area MCA Hon. Patrick Bundotich.
