Two major maternity facilities in Uasin Gishu County are set to be completed soon.
According to CEC Health Evelyn Rotich the construction works at the 70 bed maternity wing which is a flagship project are at final touches.
“The cost of the facility is 60 Million and will be complete in the next one month and ready to admit mothers giving birth,” she said.
The CEC further noted that another modem maternity wing at Kapteldon sub county health centre with a capacity of 40 beds is almost complete and will serve the larger kapseret Sub County.
The facility cost Sh26 Million.
“We are at the tail end and in 3 weeks it will be ready we are working day and night to make sure it’s complete. The facility will host a theatre,” said Infrastructure, Transport and Public Works CEC Eng. Gideon Birir who had accompanied Rotich.
Birir further urged the contractor to expedite the process to allow the residents to benefit from the flagship projects as planned.
