Western Kenya Seeks Empowerment Through Regional Caucus, Backed by Bungoma Governor Lusaka

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has made a strong case for a unified front among political leaders in Kenya’s Western region. Lusaka believes a regional caucus could be a powerful tool to drive socio-economic development for the area’s residents.

Speaking at a church service in Kakamega County, Governor Lusaka emphasized the importance of collaboration. He argued that leaders working together could more effectively “driving forward our developmental aspirations for the people.”

Lusaka’s call for unity extended beyond political leaders. He specifically urged the Mulembe Nation, a term used to refer to the Luhya people, to invest in their current leadership. A strong regional voice, he said, is necessary to “bolster our bargaining power for a fair share of the national resources.”

By working together, Lusaka believes the Western region can gain a stronger position at the national table and secure a larger share of resources to improve the lives of its residents.
