He on Thursday rose on the floor of the House on a point of order and sought a Statement from the Senate Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding an update on the resettlement status of the Kwambuzi squatters in Laikipia County.
The Senator wants the Committee to provide a status report on the implementation of the resettlement plan for the Kwambuzi squatters by the National Land Commission (NLC) following resolutions vide letter Ref: NLC/Chairman /Vol. XXII/215 dated 9th July 2018, stating the alternative land the squatters were allocated.
The Committee is expected to ascertain the number of original squatters in Kwambuzi, outlining their identification details; and state measures put in place by the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the Kwambuzi squatters.
