Former nominated Member of Parliament, Wilson Sossion, has vehemently denied accusations suggesting government involvement in the recent fire incident at Parliament, as well as vandalism of other public structures. Addressing the media earlier today, Sossion refuted claims that authorities had employed individuals to perpetrate these acts of destruction.

“In no way would the government jeopardize the progress we have made over the years by orchestrating attacks on our nation’s public resources,” Sossion affirmed, addressing the gathered press.

These statements come in the wake of allegations that individuals, purportedly hired during recent protests, had accused a politician of failing to compensate them for their services rendered.

Responding to questions about whether the government had a hand in the incidents, Sossion asserted, “Did the government plan to burn the Supreme Court, the county government’s office, or the Parliament? Such accusations are baseless and unfounded.”

He went on to clarify that reports indicate other groups had financed what he termed as syndicate groups involved in the disturbances. “The government had no intention to fund or support any groups to vandalize or burn Parliament,” he emphasized.

Regarding the invasion of Parliament by protesters, Sossion acknowledged the challenging circumstances faced by law enforcement. “When such a large group surges into Parliament, the police were left with no option but to prioritize safety and retreat,” he explained.

In conclusion, Sossion highlighted that a comprehensive investigation would demonstrate the lack of government involvement in funding the groups responsible for the unrest. “The government had no part in financing these individuals,” he reiterated.
