Women Leaders Urged to Empower and Mentor Young Girls
Bungoma Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany has called on women leaders to mentor and empower young girls.
Speaking in Nairobi at the launch of Kenya Girl Guides Bravo, Mbatiany pleaded with women in leadership position to mentor and empower young girls to take up their slots when they exit at the right time.
“I challenge those of us in leadership positions to stretch back our hands and mentor and empower other girls to take over the mantle from us when we exit the stage,” said Mbatiany.
She also called on women to unite and join hands for them to succeed and to ensure that no girl child is left behind.
The Deputy County Boss lauded the Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) for its relentless efforts towards empowering young girls and women to fully exploit their potential in life.
Secretary to the Cabinet Ms. Mercy Wanjau, Elgeyo Marakwet Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek among other leaders and diplomats were in attendance.
