The two discussed on ways of promoting sports tourism in our County and developing a sustainable city marathon.
“In my Nguzo Kumi, sports promotion and nurturing of talents is a sector that I am keen on building. Together with great athletes like Kipchoge, I will work towards creating a hall of fame in our county where we will celebrate our stars for their achievements,” said the Uasin Gishu governor.
He said his administration in conjunction with the national government will champion for completion of all sporting facilities so that all budding sportsmen and women can get a chance to train and nurture their talents with ease.
“Climate change is real and we have agreed with the sports champion that we shall be planting trees as one way of mitigating it’s effects. The youths should take up an active role in this noble initiative. My appeal is to all of us to plant trees on our special occasions as one way of greening our homesteads,” he added.
