World Ranger Day is celebrated worldwide
on July 31st to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet’s natural resources including forests, wildlife and other national treasures.

Kenya Wildlife Rangers Rangers work under exceptionally tough conditions to protect and conserve flora and fauna encapsulated in the over 2.6 million hectares of gazette forests apart from performing other national duties
such as providing security to citizens and responding to emergencies in the communities they work in. The Hon. Director General Dr. Erustus Kanga Wednesday joined the world in celebrating and recognizing
gallant Game Rangers who have dedicated their lives to the conservation of our natural heritage. This is what he had to say:

“Rangers are the unsung heroes of conservation, playing a vital role in safeguarding Kenya’s rich wildlife heritage.

From monitoring wildlife and combating poaching to engaging with local communities and promoting our parks, their dedication is crucial for preserving our natural treasures.
Let’s all salute the Guardians of the Wild!”
