Youths Urged to Vie For Political Seats Come 2022

According to National Youth Council Chairman  Uasin Gishu County Collins Kemboi, this is the only way youths’ problems will be addressed.

“I want to call upon youths wherever you are to vie for MCA, Senator, Governor, MP positions during the forth coming general elections since by having youths occupying the said positions our problems will definitely be solved since we will have one of our own who understands our problems,” the National Youth Council Chairman Uasin Gishu County  said while speaking to the press.

He says gone are the days where youths were used as ladders to put some people to power.

“Youths should wake up  and
pursue our dreams just believe in yourself and vie for the positions since by the end of the day there is no person who will give you leadership on a silver platter but through fighting for it,” Kemboi added.

He further called on youths to avoid being used by politicians to cause violence especially as the country is heading to the electioneering period.

“Avoid being manipulated and be used to fight another person
during and after election.We have not seen a politician who contested in the 2017 elections fighting each other but instead us, they celebrate on the same table but only uses youths for their own political interest.

The youth are so vulnerable and therefore selfish politicians take advantage of their situation by using them to create chaos and instill fear on their political rivals,” he added.

Kemboi urged them to shun such politicians out to use them to gain political mileage.
We must campaign in a peaceful environment. Youth who are used by politicians for their self-interest should desist from such habits, said.

“Youths should not be swayed by politicians who want to use them to get political, lets us engage in constructive activities that will add value to our lives. Politicians should instead create job opportunities for the youths,” he said.
