Hon. Nyamita told the NG-CDF Committee that NG-CDF has greatly improved and impacted the lives of many in Uriri Constituency. This has been done through construction of classrooms, laboratories, chiefs’ offices and the issuance of bursaries to the needy students.

He also pointed out a number of challenges, among them the low absorption of funds due to delayed disbursement by the exchequer, limited allocation of funds, and the size of the constituency, which limits the impact made.

“We have come to Uriri Constituency to see the projects that have been done by your area MP with the NG-CDF, how they have been done, sensitise you on the development projects done by NG-CDF and also learn from the projects,” said the chairperson, Hon. Sirma.

Hon. Beatrice Elachi (Dagoreti North) advised the locals to focus on development like education that will empower their children to become tomorrow’s employers. She called on leaders to work together in developing their area which will greatly benefit the residents of Uriri.

The NG-CDF Committee also visited Uriri Vocational and Training College, Rapogi Mixed Primary School and Nyamasare Secondary School.

“We are very impressed with the projects done by my engineer colleague Hon. Nyamita, the construction of modern class laboratory and especially the construction of the sub- chief’s office with a very small budget, the monies have been used efficiently and effectively,” said Hon. Kassim Tandaza (Matuga), the committee’s vice- chairperson.

The Committee Chairperson said that they are working on embracing technology on NG-CDF. This will create employment opportunities to the youth and hasten the NG-CDF operations including bursary applications. ICT will be allocated three percent of the NG-CDF allocation for the infrastructure and rollout to all constituencies.
