19,879 students in Uasin Gishu County Sitting for KCSE Exams
19,879 students in Uasin Gishu County are sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE).
Speaking to the press Director of Education Muriuki Harisson said all students who register are sitting for the examinations.
“The exams started as planned and so far 19,979 students are sitting for the KCSE examination. No special cases have been reported since the exams kicked off,” said the Uasin Gishu County Director of Education.
He said out of the 19,979 students who registered for the exams 9,688 are boys while 10,191 are girls.
“We have a total of 236 exams centers and six examination containers in the six sub-counties We hope that exercise will continue well until the last day.No exam irregularities have been witnessed so far and anyone whatsoever who will engage in exam irregularities will face the full force of the law,” he added.
The Uasin Gishu County Director noted that security in all the exam centers has been beefed up and that each center at least has two officers.
“We have enough security officers in our exam centers and we hope that the exams will go on without any inteference,” he added.
He also wished all the best students sitting for their exams.
“I also want to wish success to all students neither sitting for their exams nor forgetting that hard work and determination lead to success,” he said.
