EACC reveals plans to recover funds earned through fake certificates
The Ethics and Anti Corruption commission has revealed plans to recover all the funds and salaries unnonimous individual earned as monthly and annual salaries using fake certificates.
Bishop David Oginde ,the EACC chair disclosed this during the Citam church business forum on October 28th, that people used fake certificates to aquire salaries and they have already been taken to court and the commission had recovered the money that were paid during the entire period they worked .
This service went on untill the properties the individuals had aquired during the period they worked had already been seized.
“We have discovered that many people have also gotten jobs in public and private ate sector using fake certificates “.
“Several of them have been taken to court and we have recovered the monies they were paid during the time they worked and served under the certificates “.
He also talked about some of the challenges the commission faces in battling and curbing corruption which he claims is a hard but vital task.
His latest comments comes in as the commission stepped up efforts to curb and end the loss of public funds through corruption.
According to EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi ,the arrested officials were suspected of being the masterminds behind some fraudulent payments made across companies to their family members ,proxies and relatives.
