Elgeyo Marakwet Deputy Governor Speaks After 4 People Were Killed by Bandits
Elgeyo Marakwet deputy governor Wisley Rotich has condemned the recent killings at Kapkobil where four people lost their lives.
Rotich speaking to the press called on the government through the Ministry of the interior to take stern actions against those involved.
“The news of the killing of 4 people by bandits from Tiaty today at Kapkobil is devastating and heartbreaking. We condemn in the strongest terms possible and demand the govt to tell us if we are still eligible for state protection or not,” said the Elgeyo Market deputy governor Wisley Rotich.
He said he received crucial information from good Samaritans early this morning the and I went ahead to share with the county and ME sub-county security teams.
“Unfortunately no one acted on this important Intel that has now claimed 4 lives and several animals driven to Tiaty. State House Kenya signaling  Police Directorate of Criminal Investigations – DCIIs this not genocide or extermination of a community in process?” he added.
He called on the community to remain calm as investigations are underway.
“I urge the community to be vigilant, don’t leave any livestock unattended at any time of the day because reports indicate that the militia that was causing havoc in Laikipia has since migrated to Kerio signalling a very bad season ahead,” he said.
