Elect Me as Senator Before Being Appointed CS – Governor Jackson Mandago
Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago now says residents should first elect him as a senator before being a Cabinet Secretary position in deputy president William Ruto’s government.
Speaking to the press Mandago gave an example of CS Charles Keter who was elected Senator thereafter given CS position.
“I want to call upon residents of Uasin Gishu to first elect me as their senator and thereafter of I will be given the position of a Cabinet Secretary well and good if not I will continue being your senator,” said the Uasin Gishu governor.
Governor Jackson Mandago who was elected on a Jubilee party ticket is serving his second term as Uasin Gishu governor and has declared his interest in the Uasin Gishu Senatorial seat.
The seat is currently being held by Senator Prof. Margaret Kamar.
Governor Mandago’s Senatorial bid has been rubbished by the Kapseret member of parliament Oscar Sudi, who has termed him not fit for the position but instead should wait to be appointed Cabinet Secretary in three deputy president William Ruto’s government.
“Because deputy president William is running for presidency CS slots will be few and other parts of the country who supported his bid needs to be considered. We will be selfish if we will not consider other parts of the country,” added Uasin Gishu governor.
Uasin Gishu is the rural home of deputy president William Samoei Ruto who has declared his interest in the presidency come 2022.
But his bid has been rubbished by dynasties who have termed him as corrupt and cannot be trusted with the Country’s leadership.
