Catherine Kinyari Kirui alias Cate Kirui Declares Her Interest For Uasin Gishu Women Representative Seat
Catherine Kinyari Kirui alias Cate Kirui has declared her interest in the Uasin Gishu women position.
The seat is currently being held by Gladys Boss Sholei who was elected on a Jubilee party ticket is serving her firts term in office.
“I want to declare my interest in the Uasin Gishu Women representative position, my aim is to ensure that the lives of women, people with disabilities, and youths are transformed,” said the Uasin Gishu women representative aspirant while speaking to the press.
She says she will be vying using a UDA party ticket.
“I came from Mount Kenya and was married here and Uasin Gishu has decided that I will be their women representative despite am not a Kalenjin,” she added.
She said that once elected she will help jobless youths secure jobs, pay fees, and ensure that youths on CRB are removed.
“I will also ensure that I will set aside some money to help them start businesses that will help them earn a living,” she added.
She says she will help single ladies, those whose husbands died by giving them funds to be empowered financially and help on ideas of making money.
“I will start a 24 hours economy where businesses will not be closed. I know the importance of 24 hours economy since I have been in business and I encourage businessmen to follow suit,” she added.
She called on investors to invest in Eldoret town saying it’s the best place to invest since it’s peaceful.
“I urge people to come and invest in Eldoret town and Uasin Gishu as a whole since we love visitors and investors.
She thanked her husband for supporting her bid and called on husbands to always support their women if they have a political interest.
