Speaker David Kiplagat Foundation Sponsors 150 Youths to TTI Institutions
Speaker David Kiplagat Foundation has sponsored 150 youths to undergo various practical courses in TTI institutions.
This will help in creating self-employment.
“Through the DK foundation, we have in a small way so far sponsored over 150 youths to undergo various practical courses in our TTI institutions. This has gone a long way in creating self-employment and some have been lucky to get employment,” he said.
He reiterated that the main challenge facing the country at this moment in time is youth unemployment and that we need to concentrate and refocus all our effort and time to sort out the youth unemployment equation.
“Our manifesto and that of UDA are in tandem in ensuring that over 100B is pumped into the trajectory of sorting the youth unemployment question. We are going to champion legislative proposals and policies to alleviate the problem once and for all,” said the Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker.
Kiplagat says he shall ensure that all youths who are willing are empowered through training on practical skills and thereafter given the tools and capital to start their businesses.
“Youth empowerment incubators will be started across the constituency where most youths will be engaged in meaningful activities that generate income,” he said.
He said he has started a conversation with youths to listen analyze and reflect on other opportunities available to further resolve to sort out the youth unemployment question.
“We shall come to your villages, joints, and other social places to lend our brothers and sisters a listening ear on the same,” he said.
