Langas Ward MCA Francis Muya Urges Youths to Register as Voters
Langas Ward MCA Francis Muya has urged youths to register as voters.
Speaking to the press Muya said this will ensure that they participate meaningfully in the forthcoming general elections.
“I want to call upon youths who are above eighteen years old to get identity cards and thereafter register as voters. The only way our generation can bring change to this country is by practicing our democratic right to voting for leaders of our choice,” said the Langas Ward MCA.
This comes after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rolled out the second phase of Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) from January 17th to February 6, 2022, in preparation for the August 9th General Elections.
“As your leader, I urge youths to register as voters, since saying you will vote for so and so yet you don’t have a voters card is like a person with a gun without bullets, your bullet is voters card, therefore make use of it,” he added.
The Langas Ward MCA further called on youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause violence in the forthcoming general election asking them to shun such self-centered leaders.
“I want to call upon youths across the Country this time round let avoid politicians who want to use us for their political gain and should elect leaders of substance that will help them. If they give you money eat but ensure that you vote leaders who will help and not who will steal from you,” said the Langas Ward MCA.
