Baringo governor Stanley Kiptis to Defend his Seat on an Independent Party Ticket
Baringo governor Stanley Kiptis now says he will defend his seat using an independent party ticket.
This is after he lost to Benjamin Cheboi in the just concluded UDA party primaries.
Through his official Facepage page Kiptis said the UDA party nominations were not free and fair.
“After thorough investigations and wider consultations from my supporters, I have decided to defend my gubernatorial seat under an Independent ticket in the forthcoming general elections,” wrote Cheboi .
He said that from the preliminary reports, it has emerged that the recently concluded UDA party nominations weren’t free, fair and democratic as most of us anticipated.
“My decision to accept to run as an Independent candidate does not in any way affect my unsolicited support for our Party leader H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto in his quest to become 5th President of the Republic of Kenya,” he added.
