Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter Warns Bernard Kitur For Celebrating Manipulated Victory
Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has warned his Competitor Bernard Kitur against celebrating manipulated victory.
This comes days after Keter’s UDA nomination certificate was nullified and his victory given to Bernard Kitur who was number two.
He will now be vying using and independent party ticket in the forthcoming elections.
“My brother whom I truly respect Benard Kitur, you know very well that you did not win the UDA nominations. You should not celebrate a manipulated victory because it will definitely come to haunt you later. You were given that nomination certificate illegally and moreso against the will of the residents of Nandi Hills constituency,” he wrote through his official Facebook page.
He noted that if indeed the election was marred by all manner of irregularities as ruled by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal, then the results would have been declared null and void and a repeat poll be conducted.
“Unfortunately, that was not done because they knew that the will of the people would still prevail. There is no way an ‘incredible’ election and ‘violence’ can make a loser a winner. It is so sarcastic for you my brother to state that I never won the nominations when it is actually you who did not win,” he said.
He said the people will be given a chance during free August polls to select leaders of their choice.
His post recieved mixed reactions here are some of their comments.
Dan Mutai wrote ” Your statement is very correct Hon Keter, you must have done exemplary well for the people of Nandi hills to vote for you against all odds. The problem is your open criticism of the UDA party leader, it would be very hard for him to see you riding on his political vehicle. I wish you the best asvan independent candidate,”
Hon moore says “How do you get a nomination certificate without a repeat election to show you are the popular candidate.Hon Kitur, you will be floored early by Hon Keter a candidate of the people,”
Mwalimu MC says “When any election/nomination is marred by irregularities, the only sensible thing to do in the circumstances is to declare the results null and void and order for a repeat. This scenario is very strange indeed! Kitur – thank the party secretariat instead, not the people of Nandi Hills constituency. You know you did not win, don’t you? Eti kongoi iman! Bure kabiisaaa,”
