BARINGO CENTRAL: SISTER-IN-LAW FROM HELL SPRAYS HUSBAND’S BROTHER FARM WITH HERBICIDE
Anxiety as sister-in-law from hell in Baringo sprays her brother-in-law two-acre farmland with herbicides over alleged unresolved land dispute.
Residents of Sondilion village in Seretunin, Baringo Central Sub-county walked up on Wednesday, May 24 morning only someone sprayed with chemicals land belonging to Daniel Kiborus.
A village elder Isaac Kurui on Wednesday, said Francisca Kiborus, the wife of Wilson Kiborus, brother to Daniel, admitted spraying the land with chemicals, saying it belongs to her husband.
“I have done nothing yet, the land is legally registered under the name of my husband Wilson and title deed shall be out soon, so I just wanted to cultivate it then grow my crops on it” She told .
Residents’ however said her husband, Wilson, a police officer, was away when his wife commit the evil act, probably at night.
Daniel further said he on Wednesday, May 25th morning, he assigned his daughter to drive the cows to graze in the farm as usual, only to see her returning the animals’ home immediately.
The child said she met the woman(Francisca) in the farm and told her to return the animals back or else let them eat the grass and die, “because I have sprayed the farm with dangerous chemicals” Francisca told her.
Daniel with his family is now living in fear that the culprit, whose family’s homestead is located just nearby across the fence, may turn to poison and kill them.
“If she can spray our farm with dangerous chemicals then what prevents her from sneaking into our house to poison our food or drinking water” he said.
Daniel further said after three days, the leaves and grass in his farm had changed color from normal green to yellow meaning indeed it was prayed.
“I then reported the matter on Sunday 29th at Seretunin police post and the officers visited scene on Monday 30th to ascertain the situation” he said.
The incident occurred barely three weeks after the family’s land dispute was resolved on May 6th when the village elders, chief and security officers agreed on a common boundary and even laid off a straight wire fence.
Francisca insisted the farmland is registered at the ministry of lands under her husband, Wilson’s name.
The family’s elder brother Joshua Komen Kiborus said their late parents, father Kiborus Komen and mother Kobilo Kiborus left them with eight-acre parcel of land, later subdivided among four brothers, Wilson, Daniel and Kiplagat.
“We currently don’t have any land dispute with all my brothers except Wilson, whose wife seems to always drive him crazy by bringing endless issues pertaining this small family land” Joshua said.
Seretunin Location senior Chief Patrick Kiprop confirmed saying he is personally aware of the land dispute in Kap’ Kiborus family, which has dragged for many years.
“Every time we try and resolve it, some family members try to shift goal posts, I had even advised them to engage surveyors and do proper succession but all that have not bore any fruit” he said.
Kiprop further urged the family to report the matter immediately to police so they can carry out investigation and whoever found culpable to face the law.
