MAJENGO, CHAVAKALI AND MUDETE BEAUTIFICATION COMPLETE
Beautification of Majengo, Chavakali and Mudete Markets is now complete.
Speaking while on official opening of the project, Vihiga Governor Dr Wilber Ottichilo said his Government is committed to improving infrastructure in towns within the Vihiga Municipality. The Governor said the upgrading of the towns will go a long way in increasing business activity in the towns.
The County boss said his Government is cognizant of the hard economic times that have been occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic adding that in this financial year his administration will review trading license levies downwards to cushion traders.
The Vihiga Municipality upgrade program is undertaken by the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP) domiciled at the County department of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning.
Some of the works that were undertaken include; laying of cabrals making roads to the markets accessible and clearing drainage trenches.
The Vihiga Municipality Beautification program started at Mbale town, then Majengo, Chavakali and Mudete.
Accompanying the Governor were his running mate Wilberforce Kitiezo, Chief Officers Wycliffe Clement Manyulu (Lands), Dr Richard Boiyio (Environment), Sub County and Ward administrators among other County officials.
