Vote for Individuals Not Parties-Kesses MP Dr Swarup Mishra Advises
Kesses member of parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra has warned residents against voting for a political party but instead an individual.
Speaking to the press the first term Kesses legislator says it’s an individual who works and not a political party since it’s just a vehicle to take one to power.
“I want to call upon residents of Kesses not to vote for people based n their political party but what they can do and their agenda since after elections it not parties that will work for you but an individual,” said the first-term Kesses legislator.
Dr. Mishra who was elected on a jubilee party ticket will be defending his seat on an independent party ticket.
Uasin Gishu which is the home to the deputy president William Ruto is perceived to be a UDA zone and leaders from the region have been advocating for six-piece voting for Ruto to get many elected leaders.
“Six-piece voting is not good and we should vote for people based on their performance and not party and people have the right to vote for a leader of their choice without intimidation whatsoever from anyone,” said the Kesses legislator.
Deputy president who was recently in Eldoret campaigning for UDA candidates called on residents not to vote for any independent candidate yet his area MP Janet Sitienei was elected on an independent party ticket.
Uasin Gishu which is the home to the deputy president William Ruto has several independent candidates which including Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki for governor. William Chepkut for MP Ainabkoi, Silas Tiren for MP Moiben among others. It is only time that will tell if they will be elected or not.
The Kesses legislator further refuted claims by his competitors that he buys alcohol to youths saying the allegations are ill intended and only meant to tarnish his name
“I have never bought alcohol to the youths those are just allegations by my competitors for them to get political mileage,” he added.
