FATUMA HADI DOES IT ONE MORE TIME!
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations celebrates former Kilimani DCI Chief Ms Fatuma Hadi, who graduated as the best overall student in a recently concluded senior staff course held in Rwanda.
Ms Hadi, a celebrated crime buster who caused shivers down the spines of city thugs during her time as DCIO Kilimani, emerged the best student in a class of 34 students, drawn from 8 African countries.
The no nonsense detective referred to as the ‘iron lady’ by those who have worked closely with her, had courtesy of her performance earned herself admission at the Rwanda National Police College, to undertake a Police Senior Command and Staff Course.
The course was a combination of both professional and academic components, qualifying candidates for the award of Masters degree in peace studies and conflict transformation, post graduate diplomas and other certificates in strategic leadership and management, police strategic command and peace support operations.
The course was conducted in partnership with the centre for conflict management at the university of Rwanda (UR) and African Leadership University (ALU)
Through her outstanding performance in both theory and practicals especially in the application of Forensic science in resolving crime, Ms Hadi lifted the flag of the country and that of the DCI high, affirming DCI’s position as the leading investigative agency across the region.
Ms Hadi, is also a recipient of the Head of State Commendation (HSC) awarded by President Uhuru Kenyatta, after she arrested a group of men who had sexually assaulted a woman in a Githurai bound bus in 2014. The men were sentenced to hang.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is proud of Ms Hadi’s achievements and those of other detectives who through their actions have brought pride and earned DCI recognition.
