TOLGOS OPENS MULTI-MILION PROJECT IN KAPCHEROP HEALTH CENTRE
The County government has officially opened one of its flagship projects in Kapcherop health Centre.
The infrastructure comprised a 36 bed capacity Ward designated for both Male and female. The unit also has a pediatric Ward.
The department has equipped the laboratory with full haemogram machine which is fully operational and a stand-by generator serving the entire facility.
Governor Alex Tolgos graced the opening ceremony that was attended by a host of health workers led by Medical services Chief Officer Mary Kipchumba and area acting Medical Officer of Health MOH Caleb Atoli.
Tolgos also laid a foundation stone for Sh. 84 Million, One storey medical complex in the same facility.
The complex according to Mrs Kipchumba would constitute a modern Outpatient department OPD, Accident and Emergency unit, theatre, Radiology, Eye unit, Laboratory services, Dental unit and a doctor’s Plaza.
“Once complete, Kapcherop health centre will be upgraded to a sub-county hospital courtesy of the massive infrastructural development,” said Tolgos.
Tolgos said he was happy that he opened the project before exiting office saying it was one of his legacy projects.
“I have strived to ensure that all development projects undertaken by my adminstration are completed. Having left with few days before I hand over office to the next Governor, I am happy that we have been able to open this facility,” said Tolgos.
Kapcherop Health facility is also serving the neighboring counties of Trans Nzoia and West Pokot
