Just because you have a history with a person doesn’t mean you force a future with them- Benjamin Zulu

Just because you have a history with a person doesn’t mean you force a future with them. Your love for them may be sincere but this person may not have the capacity for a stable relationship and their recent history clearly shows you that.

If someone breaks up with you and they move on with someone else, but then they break up with that person and they seek to get back with you, that alone is a symptom of a lost person. Perhaps their relationship with the other person was not a replacement or rebound, and they had actually taken their time to heal. The right thing to do if they also break up with that person, then, is to pause and examine what they’re getting wrong. They would take time to find their footing and cool down emotionally.

But if they propose to run back to you in the same state of dizzyiness and confusion they’re in, refuse firmly. This is a person who is afraid of facing their life and making painful adjustments and even if you take them back you’ll soon suffer the frustrations of their instability.

Perhaps you took them back because you reasoned that you hadn’t moved on after all, and that you still loved them. Yet you overlooked some critical data, namely their movements in the intervening period since when you parted ways. The rule of the thumb is that you never get back after breaking up because once the connection between you has been killed it can never revive to full strength. You can never trust each other again because there’s that history in your mind that this person has once left and forgotten about you. How are you sure they won’t leave again?

Stop giving people romance when what they need is therapy and growth or you’ll always hurt.
