ELDORET MEDIA HUB, THE ELDORET NATIONAL POLYTECHNIC SIGN NEW MOU

The Eldoret Media Hub, a journalists resource centre set up by the Uasin Gishu Journalists Association (UGJA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) that will see Journalism students at the TVET-approved institution use the facility for practical.

The MoU was signed on Thursday, July 28, 2022, by representatives of the two organizations.

UGJA Chairperson James Gitaka and Treasurer Elvis Wasike signed on behalf of the Eldoret Media Hub while TENP Chief Principal Charles Koech and Town Campus Coordinator Dr Andrew Saina represented the institution.

Journalism students from the institution have been utilizing the facility since early this year following an earlier MoU signed in October 2021.

The Eldoret Media Hub was set up with the support of the Media Council of Kenya.

Aside from offering a safe working space for journalists based in Uasin Gishu County, the facility is also a mentorship centre for upcoming journalists.

It is equipped with a voice recording studio and hosts an online radio – Hubz Radio among other equipment that are utilized by practising journalists and Journalism students.
