Residents of Kamagut DP Ruto’s Home Optimistic of His Presidential Win

Residents of Kamagut, Uasin Gishu which is the home County to the Deputy President William Ruto are glued to their television hoping that William Ruto will be declared president.
Ruto who hails from the region is facing the opposition leader Raila Odinga who is vying for
the fifth time.

Villagers in Sambut Village where Ruto was born on 21st December 1966, are in high spirits hoping that Ruto will be declared president.
Clement Kipkoech one of his childhood friends says Ruto was a humble and God-fearing person.

“We attended the same nursery school at Kamagut primary school, we shared most of our childhood life and we have been praying that he is declared the winner of this election, “said Clement Kipkoech alias Kilimendi who is a bodaboda operator.

Clements’s house which sits a few meters away from Ruto’s maternal home is filled with friends –Ruto’s childhood friends who are following keenly on the Presidential results from the Uchaguzi Centre at the Bomas of Kenya.
”We met here to follow up on the Election proceedings as we pray for Ruto, we have been meeting here every day since we voted on August 9th we hope to slaughter a bull and celebrate with other villagers if he is declared the winner ‘Said Julius Kimosbei bor a former classmate to the deputy president and the Kenya kwanza Presidential candidate.

Ruto’s Nursery school at kamagut Primary

Dp Ruto’s former primary school classmates say he was a bright student, well disciplined, and very religious.
“We were only 30 pupils in our class 15 girls and 15 Boys, Ruto was a top performing student, many times he spared us a betting from our teachers just in case we were unable to answer any of the questions because he was able to answer many of the questions ”
Ruto loved school debates he represented us in inter-school competitions, he had good diction for the English language and although we did not have shoes to school he managed to score 33 out of 36 marks in CPE and would later join Wareng High school and thereafter Kapsebet Boys before joining The Nairobi University “Said Esther Cherobon.

Her Nursery school teacher Ludia Chebet, 76 years old says they have Faith in the leadership of Dr. William Ruto.
“Since he was a young man he delivered on anything he set his minds on, I am hoping he will be president so that he can build me a house,” said the 76 years old.
Despite the Optimism that the Kamagut Villagers have for their son, They Say they will continue praying and supporting him even if doest win in this year’s elections.

“We have always supported him since 1997 when he was elected Mp Eldoret North, he has not failed a single election in his political career should he not win in this election which is so unlikely we will continue to support him he is young and he has a chance to vie for the presidency,” Said Clement his childhood friend.
At Ruto’s maternal home in Kamagut only a few workers can be traced tending the cattle and the farm Her mother and other siblings are currently in Nairobi awaiting the declaration of the 9th august presidential Winner by IEBC.
